CARTOONS How to Draw Cartoon Human Figures Cartooning with Fun! Book 1 edition by Jane Lindley Arts Photography eBooks

Jane Lindley, the author tells us right off that the best artists that you know today never started out as professionals, but all built their knowledge and expertise from scratch. So, how do you start? The author shows you how to start with a simple diagram or outline which you perfect as you go on one step at a time. I like that she had the steps in drawing in this book. That really helped. She went through how to draw several people, first a boy with his hands in his pockets, then a small girl, a grown woman, a man with a suitcase, and old woman and then an old man, first starting with the outline and then filling in. Even though my drawings after following her example didn’t look like hers, they did look like people and they were unique to me and my style. This book delivers what it promises.

CARTOONS How to Draw Cartoon Human Figures Cartooning with Fun! Book 1 edition by Jane Lindley Arts Photography eBooks Reviews

Did I buy the book? No. Why? Because as a professional cartoonist who has sold cartoons to national newspapers and magazines, I am offended beyond measure by the fact that someone whose cover is so amateurish is selling herself as a teacher to those who don't know how to draw. Uggghhh.
THIS is how you draw ...
Just started with drawing and found this book. Its really good for beginners with a lot of images and easy to grt started with. Would recommend to everyone that just started with drawing
Before I read this book I never thought I can draw cartoon characters one day. I just thought it is very difficult and require a lot of training and a very good talent But this great book changed my mind completely and with it I recognized how simple it is to draw good cartoon characters. I really loved this amazing book.
I used to get art books like this all the time in elementary school, they start off with the basics of circles and lines and then have instructions on how to make them into something. The ones I used to get were complicated and hard to follow. This one however, was very easy to follow along to and I was able to draw all the characters in the book. They are not complicated, but are a good starting point.
One of the things that’s great for a beginner is, as I said, it’s easy to understand. It’s not overwhelming. The author takes you step by step, through the book. Drawing human figures with the help of this book can be a lot of fun. It’s very interesting to see the shapes you can use for the head, the types of eyes, the body types. There are a variety of parts of the character that can define them in different, exciting, and humorous ways. This is the kind of book every cartoonist should have, even if they're an experienced artist.
